  • Content Standard #4: Understanding the visual arts in relation to history and cultures
  • Content Standard #5: Reflecting upon and assessing the characteristics and merits of their work and thework of others
  • Content Standard #6: Making connections between visual arts and other disciplines

The National Coalition for Core Arts Standards
The NCCAS has developed beautiful written Visual Arts Standards that focus on the critical and higher level thinking skills of an artist. The standards not only focus on the process and development of art, but the original thinking that is fostered in those processes.
