Art Garvin's Class Schedule



8:50-9:30           Morning Meeting with rotating PLC schedule. During this time students greet one                     another with handshakes, smiles and inquiries about others. Students participate in a group activity from Yoga stories to art criticism. Students end with a sharing time.

9:30-10:10          4th Grade. Students further develop art mediums such as sketching, shading,          painting, form and figure. Students also brainstorm multiples approaches to art, design, collaboratively set purposeful goals as well as present and connect personally to their art. Students also reach across cirrocumulus in Social Studies and  21st Century Skills

10:13-11:53        2nd Grade. Students further develop art mediums such as watercolor, tempera,  pastels and sculpture. Students begin to analyze famous artworks and styles using a 4 square method. This helps them interpret art and see the communication and  messages behind them. Student participate in a lot of creative story and poetry writing to correlate with their art.

11:56-12:36        2nd Grade. Students continue to develop building skills with 3D manipulation and    forms, painting, pastels, and mixed media. Students often collaborate with peers for discovery and inquiry relating to art, styles, and history. Students begin to see art in their everyday world and discover variable purposes for creating and viewing art.

1:25-2:05           1st Grade. Students actively engage in exploration and imaginative play with  materials including clay, paint, color work,  and pastels. Students use observation and investigation to  design. Students often incorporate sight words and counting to encourage management. Students regularly engage in art walks and talks with give them a chance to express their personal feelings and ideas towards their work.

2:08-2:48         5th Grade Students engage in exploration and imaginative play. They are
introduced to a variety of art mediums through observation and investigation. Students spend a large amount of time reflecting on personal experiences through art and engage is story connections. Students regularly engage in arts walks and talks as this allows them to collaborate with peers.

2:50-3:30      Kindergarten.  1st Grade. Students actively engage in exploration and imaginative play with  materials including clay, paint, color work,  and pastels. Students use observation and investigation to  design. Students often incorporate sight words and counting to encourage management. Students regularly engage in art walks and talks with give them a chance to express their personal feelings and ideas towards their work.
