Look Out Below

Another smashing year for the pumpkin drop! During related arts students worked as a team to engineer a contraption that might save or protect their pumpkin from a 95 foot fall from our local fire truck. It was a great exercise in team work. While no pumpkin fully survived the fall we declared winners per grade level based on the least amount of damage.

Shadow Night Scapes

5th grade created these landscapes. They created a mood painting with shadow and highlights in perspective.

Pastel Leaves

4th grade created large leaves by blending oil pastels. They added a splash of gold paint to accent the contour lines of the leaves.

3D Leaf Prints

3rd grade created these beautiful leaf prints by pressing leaves into modeling clay. Then painting them with watercolor when dry.

Watercolor Scarecrow

2nd grade created these adorable scarecrows. Each scarecrow was given a bit of personality and students used a wax resist for the straw.

Watercolor Leaves

1st Grade painted these watercolor leaves by blending cool colors for the background and warm colors for the leaves!

Primary Pumpkins

Kinders created these cute pumpkins using only the three primary colors: red, yellow and blue. They created shades of orange by mixing the red and yellow. Green leaves were added with yellow and blue. A brown stem was topped off by mixing all three primary colors together.
